It's time to get to riding!
What Jeep Clubs can I join in Missouri?
- Midwest Jeepthing: The first club we want to talk to you about is called Midwest Jeepthing! This club offers many events you can enjoy throughout the year, including organized trail runs, social events, and even informal pop-up runs. This is an opportunity to meet new people, test out new trails, and learn how to push your off-roading limits to the max.
- Missouri Jeep Club: What other club can you join? We have to recommend the Missouri Jeep Club, as it's a great place to enjoy riding in groups, along with just embracing Jeep culture in general. You can stop by different events, share stories, and make friends.
- STL Jeeps: We can't have a Jeep Clubs section for Missouri without mentioning STL Jeeps. This was a club created for Jeep owners to meet other Jeepers who have the same hobbies in mind. You'll be able to enjoy some Jeep rides, along with off-roading excitement! This is truly an opportunity you do not want to miss out on.
- Sho-Me Jeepers: The final club we want to mention today is Sho-Me Jeepers. This is a club with a monthly hangout where plans are made in town or out on the trails in Missouri. This is a perfect opportunity to get a feel for off-roading or to test your skills as a seasoned off-roader. Meet new people, test out your latest Jeep accessory, and let's get going!
Where can I off-road with my Jeep in Missouri?
- 8 Gauge: The first trail we have to recommend to anyone in Missouri is 8 Gauge. This trail has a Moderate tech rating, meaning this isn't a trail you should be heading to if you're new to off-roading. You'll find yourself driving along a rocky trail with a section of small rock obstacles that can be challenging to overcome, but satisfying when you do! You may also find a steep grade along PeeWee Crossing.
- Amidon Conversation Area Road: We all have our preferences, and this trail is a gravel-based road that goes through the Missouri Department of Conservation area. You can try your hand at creek/river crossings, along with handling loose rock parts of the trail. If you're new to off-roading, do not head to this trail after it has rained, as the conditions can get pretty treacherous!
- Anderson Hollow: We think you're due for an easy trail! Beginners, you are more than welcome to tackle Anderson Hollow, as it's a trail that allows you to get comfortable with off-roading. You'll be able to enjoy the beautiful local wildlife through the Mark Twain National Forest! Should the weather turn rainy, it's important to note that this road will turn slick, so always stay prepared.
What safety precuations should I consider when off-roading?
You know the clubs available to you, along with some of the top trails, but how can you enjoy off-roading while also thinking about safety? First and foremost, we always recommend that people ride together! This is one of the biggest benefits of joining a Jeep Club, allowing you to have someone to watch out for you if you ever encounter any issues. We also want to remind you about the importance of routine service on your Jeep as a way to avoid any issues arising while you are out on the trails. Please schedule an appointment with us, and our certified technicians can prep your ride for the fun ahead! Finally, pack an emergency kit! This kit should include things like jumper cables, a shovel, extra water and nonperishable food, a blanket, a flashlight with batteries, an extra set of clothes, and a portable charger for your phone. Be prepared for anything!
